Batch Exif processor

Hi all,

I'm after a bit of advice. I wonder whether there's a program available (freeware if poss, don't mind paying a bit) that will allow me to batch update the Exif data on my photographs.

Currently I am opening the first photograph of a set, setting Photoshop to record, editing the Exif data, closing the photo, stop recording, then set the image processor loose on the folder.

I'm hopeful there's an easier way? I did Google it, but I got the world back, some some actual usage opinions would be appreciated.
