Battery Adaptor for Rangefinder

I'm planning to buy a Minolta Hi-Matic 7. This camera takes 625 batteries, and no company produces this kind of batteries as far as I know. So, are there battery adapters or battery converters to run the camera?

I'm very new to Rangefinders, any comments or suggestions would help!

there are replacements for mercury batteries available...
you'll either need an adaptor and/or an adjustment
to the meter of the camera...

He's saying you can still get 625 sized batteries but the voltage is 1.5V instead of 1.35V so the meter will be off. In a Yashica 124 it throws the meter off by almost 2 stops.

There is the Wein MRB625 which is a zinc/air battery @ 1.35V. They don't last long but they're cheap. I got a blister pack of 6 for $19.99 at a Batteries Plus store here in town.

Thanks for the info. I saw somewhere on the internet that the meter would be off, and I didn't know what they were talking about. Now I know what they are talking about. Thanks for the clarification.

I'll keep looking for another one on ebay.
