Battery discharge

I have a Panasonic TZ30. Despite turning off the GPS, the battery discharges even when the camera is off. What can I do to stop this. It can discharge within 2 days. I hope to use it on vacation where there is only vehicle charging available so I need to conserve battery life. This happens with older and new batteries. It did fall into a river 4 months ago and was dried with the battery compartment empty and open. It was working after the ducking - a bit sticky on lens movement at first but ok since. Help:blushing:

Corrosion from the wetting has likely formed some short circuits in the internal electrical connections that are causing the battery drain.

When consumer electronics get wet, they need to be wiped down and put in a ziplock bag with a cup or so of uncooked rice to dry.
The rice absorbs moisture wiping can't get to.

I recommend you replace the camera.
