Found them both in a tree and had too keep an eye out for mama. shot with a cannon 5D set to AV mode using a 24-70mmL f/2.8 IS lens.

i cant find the bears. seeing that you shot in a bright day, ISO 100 would be a better choice for a smoother picture.

Yeah, it's rather hard to find your subject, and even when one does, you only know what the brown mass is because you said so.

That said, if you cropped the image in half (keeping the left side), it's a textural image that conveys chaos and uneasiness. Which is mildly neat.

Im still shooting with auto ISO and AV setting. I sometimes do play with full manual but very seldom. So what exactly would changing the iso do?

I dunno, scarecrow. A good exposure is a good exposure, no matter what ISO is used. The biggest difference is the amount of noise your camera produces at higher ISO's, and whether it was needed to be that high in the first place.

That may be what Fleacz was talking about. Noise, rather than smoothness.

yeah I was at a 400 iso for this shot....top it off I didn't wanna get any closer to them as moma was right round the corner and all I had was the 24-70mmL 2.8.
