Had to pull these out for another use and thought I'd show them.
Great light and a Norman Rockwell look at the county fair.

Nice. The first one tells the story but the reflection in the second one really draws me in.
 
I liked these for a variety of reasons.
In #1 the light in the barn was just glorious, indirect and soft.
The shot is filled with 'stuff' that isn't distracting and provides more details about the reality of the scene.

The second sort of breaks standard rules; fully half the frame is filled with OOF backs but the rest of the frame makes all that seem like you're just looking over their shoulders. This sort of mimics what one really sees, part of the viewing area is OOF but your mind accepts and integrates that because your mind understands the frame.
Even the snip of printed paper makes a bit of sense and can be integrated into the story.

I denoised and then added soft fine grain to both of these to get a soft look.
