Happy to learn. oh and our drinking shed has fluorescent lights and its always night outside if that is any help for you to help me any way have a look at these photos I did just for fun last night. What are you trying to get out of the photos? These are all fairly bad angles, the label is read by drinkers straight on so I'd think that is how the photo should be taken.

Maybe I am wrong, anyone?

I am a beer enthusiast myself and have thought about learning how to photograph beer to show it's label and bottle style next to the pour qualities and colors. I may just do such this summer as a project.

Grant if you read what I said you would see I was not trying to get anything here just messing about having fun point and shoot. seems like I offended you, you sounded quiet abrupt I had not set up for these photos at all but thank you for looking

I doubt you offeded him, when people post pictures it is usually for critique thats all.

These are random snaps. What are you looking for help with? What do you not like about your images? Is there any intent behind these? What were you enamored with that you wanted to show in your images?
Has anyone suggested Googling information on the elements of composition? How about the book " Understanding Exposure" ?

He obviously drank the other five in his six pack before taking these photos. He is going to regret posting this tomorrow morning.

Yeah I am pretty in to beer as well and I was thinking about making taking some pictures of all my rarer beers and throwing them into a set. Not sure what kind of background to use though, a lightbox would look cheesy.

Actually I like them and even tho they are just basic shots and are not straight I thought they were better then what I had imagine they would turn out. Just having fun and seeing these photos got me thinking hey what if I tried to do something like this and set it up the right way that is the reason why I posted them hoping that I would get a little help with something like this just something for me to try but getting help using right settings on my camera I can't go to school to learn properly due to personal reason's so after seeing this forum I thought I would get some help and advice here. I thought the colours were good and so is the condensation water droplets I was not trying to take photos for advertisement or magazine but just to see how clear they would come out. I know they are not wonderful but please try to understand I have only had very cheap cameras in the past and Just want to learn I don't want to sell or become big time pro just a little help to get me on my way something to I can put into practice and come back and say hey thanks guys now look what Ive done with your help. ..I don't mind been criticized criticism is good its healthy but it should be done in a nice way there is nice and not so nice way of saying things to people. but so Praise and they both have there deserving place its part of life. Just finding my little niche in the world of photos finding what I might be good at better at or best at and what I am not so good at.

It's hard to help people when you don't know what exactly they want help with.
So, what do you want help with?
You have to help us help you.

Can you answer the last two questions from my previous post?

Get the book, Learning to See Creatively by Bryan Peterson. It is not recommended as much as Understanding exposure but I liked it even better.

if these are the questions your asking me to answer the answer is no and no sorry I did not realize they were questions I took them as statements very sorry about that. Ill try to explain again IF I was to go down this path and take close up's for whether they be beer bottles or can of baked beans it don't matter at all just some setting would be helpful. what setting on the camera would you suggest and what sort of setting would you use to take good photos like these. I have a nikon D3100 with kit lens 18 55

Get that book and the one I suggested. It contains all the answers.

LoL no SHE wont regret posting them in the morning or will I regret posting them next week

I like the second pic the best, and I think the sports setting actually added to the effect - it's nice and sharp, shallow depth of field; Sort of like the viewer's fixated on the alcohol, which can tend to happen, haha. The fact that the image is tilted makes it even better!

Overall I'd say just work on composition a bit, everything else looks just fine to me. I like the second one the best because of the colorful, out of focus background, and the tilted leading line of the edge of the table - Just keep playing around with the rule of 3rds, what your background is, and how much the subject fills the frame, and you've got a nice set of beer photos! Get a contract with Budweiser's advertising department!

Just my $0.02 - Happy shooting!
