Now that the photo challange is over I can ask about this. Just wondering if there's anything I could do to make this better.

What lens are you using?
To me the focus seems a little soft. By my eyes, the focal point seems to be a small spot to the left of the bridge of the nose. The eyes seem slightly out of focus, but I do like your ceiling lamp in the eyes

If you reshoot it, I would probably focus on the eyes, and stop down your shutter a little more.

Does seem a little soft but it is a nice shot. Maybe darken it a touch and make it warmer.

Yes, looks a little soft to me. I'd increase the contrast slightly. Not a bad shot though otherwise. I like the composition.

The lens is the one that came with the camera, Canon Rebel Xsi. This pic was done the first week I had the camera and was just messing around with it. Not sure I can get the chance to reshoot since my cat doesn't like listening to me. I'll keep the comments in mind though.
