Beginner Digital Camera

Hey all, my friend and I are looking to get back into photography. We are on a budget and are looking for a good digital camera in the 200$ range. Someone suggested this one: Amazon.com: Canon Powershot A3300 16 MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom (Black): Electronics What would you guys suggest for a good beginner?

In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with a Canon PowerShot. I use my SD880 whenever I cannot bring a full size DSLR.

At this budget, I think you'd be better off looking at the higher end of the powershot range, but something a little older. I think you can acquire a G10 for around $200 used, and while it doesn't have some of the features of newer cameras, you'll get better performance at the same price I think. The G series have larger sensors and are more targeted toward manual control than the A series are.
