Seems a bit of a nano-trend featured in the NYT a couple weeks back: old p&s cameras, notebooks/sketch books, pens...Can't you smell "vintage?"

Unfortunately, Canon discontinued their super zoom PowerShots recently which caused the new and used market prices to skyrocket. Models such as the SX620, SX720, SX740 and even very old SX260 are overpriced due to demand. I'd be careful of the PowerShot ELPH line. I had a ELPH 100 for years when I wasn't into photography and looking back on those pics the quality is disappointing. The SX line takes sharper pics than the ELPH line, IMO. If you are interested in the PowerShot ELPH line pay attention to pic quality before buying. Perhaps they have improved over the years. Perhaps a used Lumix DMC-ZS100 would be a better alternative.

We have a decision. A family friend had given her a barely used Canon EOS M200. It was stored away and forgotten about while she was at school because she felt was too big to carry around. She was going to sell it but the body is actually pretty small. It looks “big” because it has a detachable 15-45 zoom kit lens on it. She ended up ordering a pancake 24mm for it and it will be perfect for what she wants. A tiny bit heavier than the Powershot but she will have the option of swapping in the zoom when she needs it for vacations or whatever.
