Beginner help

Hiii

I'm going to buy a SLR camera, I'm just a beginner but I want to take photography a little more serious, I love photos since I was 8 years old, and right now I have the money to buy a good SLR

The problem is that I don´t know what camera to buy and where I live I can't take some sample photos with them.
The cameras that I have in mind are the Canon T3i, Canon 60D, Sony a55 and Sony a580

So please help me chossing between this options or give me more options to buy, I would love any advice from you

i think what you mean is a DSLR Not a SLR DSLR=digital single-lens reflex SLR=Single-lens reflex camera difference is digital and film.. all those cameras you posted are Digital . In my opinion i like the t3i. But it all comes to what you going to use the camera for. i wouldn't recommend a $1,000 camera if all you're going to do is take photos of you're lil sis bday. just saying. But if you plan to do more then that,by all means go for it because eventually you'll need a good camera. That's just my opinion. kinda sucks you got 28 views and no comments too hope more ppl give their 2 cents

That's tough to answer. Each model is going to have a slightly different set of features and specs. You really need to research each to understand what they are, and determine if it's worth x dollars more than camera b (that might not have that feature). I have a 60d and am very happy with it; my dad has a t1i and he's very happy with that. I would go to your local camera store and play around a bit.

thanks to the two of you, I want to take portraits and action photos, people playing soccer, basketball, etc. Not only for my sister b-day hahaha
Another thing that I have in mind is the Lenses, which brand is better?? Canon or Sony?

I use a d20 and have been very pleased with the results sports portraits nature just be sure to get a couple of lenses sports I tend to use 300mm I usually shoot baseball games from the end of the fence 1st base line I can rapid shoot from pitch to runner hitting first. My whole setup was purchased from ebay body 230 50mm 45 and 300mm 65 so be sure to shop around when you figure it out.

I too am a beginner in the DSLR world. I recently bought the T3i after months of researching. I feel it'll be a great camera to learn and grow with. So far so good. I'm using the 18-55mm kit lens and for all intents and purposes...it works for me. I use my DSLR for parties, get togethers, group shots, nature, sporting events etc. I'm on a College budget and felt that this camera was the right choice... especially the bundle deal I went with.
