Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I have only been taking pictures with a DSLR for a few months, so needless to say.....I'm very new to this world. I mainly got this camera to take pictures of our first baby and I realized that I really enjoy snapping shots. Here are a few that I was hoping to get some real feedback on. What could be done better or different. Thanks in advance. This is my first post here BTW.:D:D

First, what is your reason for making them monochromish ?

In the first shot ... you probably saw the pelicans under the bridge, so you can lose the left side ... don't be afraid to crop.
Hmm, the big foot ? Composition of this image doesn't appeal to me.
Missed focus on that last shot.

Thanks for the feedback!

No particular reason for the monochrome, I just thought that it looked good.

I think i cropped to close on the foot.

The last one was kinda a fluke shot, I was just snapping photos and i did miss the focus. I just really like the picture and tried to save it.

First shot does nothing for me. Maybe if you had zoomed in on one pelican.

The second and third shots are interesting. The foot shot is somewhat odd, yet it holds my attention, and I find the lines and folds interesting and unique. It is not a super shot, but there is something there.

Same for the last shot. Interesting, off-beat composition.

I would say just try to improve on the technical stuff, like lighting, exposure, focus.

What if you rotated the 3rd shot 180 degrees?

Love the foot. It is oily and almost grotesque. Detail is very good. I would crop the right side.
The first is not in focus, and the 3rd is cute and personal but I'm not into cute and personal.

hey guys tell me what you think! thanks!

FIRST AND FOREMOST... STOP with the post processing effects.

Focus on your photography and composition skills FIRST. These after-effects you are doing are essentially a loaded gun in the hands of a child. You don't know what they do, you don't know what they're for, and you don't fully understand the implication of using them.

I do not say that to insult you. This is just something every new photographer tends to struggle with.

Hoyzn: It is a bit rude to just post your images in someone else's thread. Start your own thread if you want feedback.

Oh man... I was responding to those images thinking that they were the OP's.... crazy. lol

Yes, please start a new thread with your own stuff.

And stop doing all the effects. :)

I'm going to take this advise as being directed at me :)

Thanks for the feedback, I will tone down the post processing. I have a lot to learn.
