Beginner Photo Here: What do you think?

Just got my Canon XS yesterday. This is a photo I took tonight around 730 pm from my balcony.

Congrats on the camera.

For the photo, the sky is blown, so is the roof.
As for the composure, I am not really sure what your intended subject of attention was... There is some decently interesting visual there, but not all that much.

If you have PS, try this next time: put your camera on a tripod and take one shot with the exposure set for the foreground (subject) and then another in the same position for the sky so it has some color. Then use the photomerge.

It would be nice if there's some clouds showing in the image... also the best time to shoot a photos like that would be 15mins before the sunset or 15mins before the sunrise.

Yes...i have PS and will definitly try the photomerge thing. Along with the new camera, I bought the photoshop/premier elements 7.0 package. So I'll read up on the photomerge function. Im assuming take one picture then the other with part of something from the first, and the PS will "merge" as one. I guess this is good for panorama too.....
