Beginner recommendation

I'm a relative beginner. Although I've been taking pictures with film and an early Canon EOS Rebel (one of the first under $1000 DSLRs) for years, I have only recently decided to get semi-serious and really try to lean this craft. Not too long ago I bought my first "serious" camera - a Canon 7D. Anyway, the other day I was shopping at Costco and picked up what has turned out to be a very informative, easy to follow book:

"The Ultimate Canon SLR Handbook". I highly recommend it for any beginner and maybe for some not so new to photography.
