Beginner Shots for C&C

I just started fooling around with my husband's canon 30D. Here are some shots I've taken. C&C welcome! I know I need help.

You're off to a good start, however way too many images on which to provide detailed critique. I'd suggest picking 2 - 4 images and reposting them in a new thread.

your shots are nice. i just read " the rules of composition" which has opened my eyes quite a bit. you should google that and take a quick read.

I will give you a opinion from viewing apposed to a techinical opinion, as I am also a noob and dont know much haha.

Pic 1- Is a nice idea but it all seems a little to blurry with nothing to really focus on.

Pic 2- Is a lovely modern idea, but i would prefer it if, the top of the cup, and left hand side was in the frame. also if the black thing in the background was removed

pic 3- Is the kind of pics I really enjoy taking. I would like this image more If the background was all the same coulour.

Hope this gives you a different perspective based on viewaing pleasure, rather than that of a technical nature.

Point & Shoot, I will definitely google the rules of composition. I try to follow the rule of thirds but sometimes, it just slips my mind. As for other rules, well, you know....I'm a noob.

stepollard1, I didn't even realize that the background was so distracting for pic 3. I'll keep that in mind for next time.
