Beginners equipment for stock photography

Hi,
I am planning to start with stock photography. I have dilemma what type of camera I should buy. I have been advised to buy the Canon 7D EOS with Canon 50mm f1.4 lenses. Is this suitable combination of equipment?

There is a LOT of variety of stock photography. Your going to need a wider selection of lenses then just a 50mm.
