I've messed around with light painting in the past briefly, with a laser pointer and a lame point-n-shoot.

Hadn't thought about it much until recently. My new girlfriend is interested in it. We took a short trip a couple weeks ago and ended up bored in the hotel room.
I didn't have a tripod, or "proper" tools, but we MacGyver'ed up a tool. She folded and wrapped some pink underwear over a flashlight and held it with a hair tie.
Most didn't turn out very well, but we had a lot of fun.

This is supposed to be a house, tree and sun

We talked about playing around again and decided to last night.
Again we MacGyver'ed some tools. Cut and folded colored tissue paper to diffuse some flashlights, held the paper in place with para cord.
We walked down to a park close to my place. Used a tripod and remote. Didn't have a plan, just played around.

First was a couple glow sticks

Then on to our makeshift light pens

Then she had an idea. We tried it out. It worked but needs refinement.

Nothing turned out the way we thought, lots were out of focus, but we had a blast!
We will be moving forward with proper tools and better locations, ideas, etc.

Yeah, good start, some different types of efforts, different light instruments. Pretty good start. Probably kind of fun too.

Dude, you are still calling her your 'new' girlfriend and you already broke out your pink underwear? That's ballsy.
