I tried out the Sigma 150-600 and while it was sharp, it was too heavy for handholding for extended periods and hard to manage a solid focus lock in tight confines. So instead, I got the newest model of the Nikon 1.4 tele-extender and am using that with my Nikkor 80-400 (which I really adore). Drawback is that it pushes you to f/8 at 560mm which in turn on less than stellarly lit days, forces an increase in ISO...but this is at ISO 800 and the grain is negligible.
