What is the best lens for group shots with 5d Mark2?

How big is the group? How much room will you have to set up the shot (i.e. any constraints on how far back you can go to get everyone in the picture?)

Do you own the EF 24-70 f/2.8L?

Those images appear to have been taken with a tilt-shift... and like the TS-E 45mm f/2.8... possibly the TS-E 24mm f/3.5.

The "tilt" feature is designed to allow the photographer to angle the plane of focus and bring more content into focus along the plane. There's a bit of a fad to deliberately tilt the focus the plane the wrong way (or just too far in the right direction) in order to force a narrow plane of focus that cuts a band of focus through the middle and deliberately throws other areas out of focus -- which is what they did here.

This has nothing to do with "What's the best lens for group shots".

So, as Tim said, probably the TS-E 45mm f/2.8.
