A lot of newer photographers wind up buying 3 tripods.
Tripod #1 is a CPOS and soon breaks or is found to be totally inadequate is some other respect.
Tripod #2 is more expensive and better, but still comes up short in some other respect.
Tripod #3 does the deed.

But then sometimes one tripod won't do the deed and you have to compromise.
My big sturdy tripod often gets left at home, for my lighter and smaller travel tripod that is much more practical for travel.

Thanks guys.. I was just starting yet another tripod conversation to be funny haha.

I have two OLD tripods that I use now. Both suck - but they do work - in the basic kind of way.the best of the two is the vivitar VPT-360 SE. At least it has a quick release.

I'm going to get lenses first before I invest in another tripod. BUT, I can say this, when I get one it will have the swivel head on it. I thought that I saw one somewhere that you can even flip your camera upside down.
