Best way

Whats the best way to get rid of the power lines in this picture? The most advanced editing software i have is gimp.

Here is a test image if anyone would feel like giving it a shot or at least explaining the process, i took a couple pictures today that were ruined by this so its something i need to learn how to do.

That's a bit much to "fix".

I look for a different perspective to avoid power lines, or in a case like that, just don't bother taking the shot.

As far as I know, the only tool that Gimp has which will deal with these wires is the clone tool. Google "Youtube Clone Tool" for some good tutorials on how to get the most benefit from this tool.

Thats kinda what i figured. Thanks for the help, was just making sure. There are cool locations to take pictures downtown, but the place is plagued with power lines. ughhh

It can be done, but it will take some time. Cloning and healing will be used most, and a lot of mouse clicks.

I wouldn't mind taking a crack at it, but I'd rather have the full-size original to work with instead of the itty-bitty images the forum allows.

Good job Sparky, I would have done it....but I have ALOT better things to do! lol

Really though for practical purposes, this is too much to edit, if you had just one, or a 3 phase, it wouldn't be that bad...how long did that take you Sparky?
