Big Time Help Needed! Friday's getting closer!

We're getting our refund check from the IRS this Friday.

I've already got the thing spent in my head, on various photography sites, and newegg.com.

My wife has it spent in her head on a new mattress, window blinds, and various home decor.

What do I do? Is there really compromise to be made?

Do I get the D90 instead of the D7000, so she can get her soft EuroTop instead of discount Sam's Club mattress? Do I forgo a new laptop or a new desktop, instead of getting both? Do I just go with a new DVD burner, instead of a new BluRay burner?! You really gonna tell be to stick with getting a kit lens, instead of getting a nicer wide angle zoom?

Aggghhh. I needs help! Friday's coming, and she's got her debit card hid so I can't cut it up!!!

What he said, you do realize if you go against what you wife says that she will make your life a living hell. You can start to make plans for your doghouse man. Go with her to buy the thigs she wants and then ask if you can have what's left for your wants.

Get the mattress and put the rest towards the camera you want. If you want the D90, get it and you both win, if you want the 7000 save up a little. Drop the laptop and desktop idea as well as the dvd/blu-ray. I assume you have a laptop or a desktop and a dvd player since you specified new.

Compromise, that's what a marriage is about.

I'd say put it in the bank and continue saving until you can afford both what she wants and what you want. It would be stupid to settle for a camera that you're going to be unhappy with and it would also be stupid to piss off the wife. I find it best to learn to live with what you have until you can get what you really want.
