Well when i do put black fabric underneath the light always makes it look gray and not that pure shiny black im looking for. And personally id think it would be easier with the black plexi glass

I used google and found a ton of places to get whatever color or texture you want.

Schwetty, putting something under glass or plexi doesn't stop the dual layer reflection.

i guess this stuff doesn't come cheap. Would local glass specialists carry stuff like this you think?

Sure, sometimes you can buy "cut off's". Check custom framers too!

Sign shops... the people who make signs for businesses, usually have black plexi in stock... If they won't sell you a peice, you can at least have them order a peice in for you...

Actually it can if you know how to light it right, but it is a pain in the butt to set up.

Black plexi is the easier choice most of the time.

This site has it for $49. I've got the mirrored piece from them and it works great. I use it for seniors and kids. :thumbup:

not sure if the have it in Canada, but around here McMaster-Carr carries a lot of materials like that.
