Blank and white conversion methods

I've found myself relying more and more on Camera Raw for making adjustments or coversion. Before that I've used the channel mixer or using LAB mode + curves.

If you want true blank to white conversion, push the shadow point on the curves to maximum. If you want blank and black conversion, push the highlight to minimum. In either case, the curve should remain absolutely flat.
