Blue Door

Trying to get more serious about my photography and would like some feedback. I know some of the basics about exposure, but there is still a lot that I tend to overlook in my haste. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I think you've got a good subject here but the image isn't working as well as it could due to the lighting. I would suggest re-shooting this when the light is on the door-wall instead of in shadow, and when the sky is a bright, deep blue (a polarizing filter might help). That would make the subject (the door) brighter and also eliminate the bright, featureless white of a hazy sky.
