Sorry...I'm not really sure with to say about this. It's a boiler in a basement.

You need to go back and rethink this ...it is not interesting, it is out of focus and the lighting is poor. You had to know this , right

This should be labeled NSFW, its scandelous! Look at all that exposed piping.....

Mike Lamb; do you really expect people to waste their time giving you a critique of this photograph?

1. You should remove the excess materials from in front of your subject.
2. You need to do something artistic with the lighting.
3. You need to move in much closer to frame your subject tighter.

Until you are willing to spend some time developing a photograph, don't expect people to spend time giving you a critique.

You have a picture of an interesting Thing here, but the picture fails to convey the interestingness. The picture itself is rather flat, rather busy, and rather dull.

Go back and look at the boiler, think about what makes it interesting to you. Is it dark and mysterious? Then don't make the picture bright and colorful! Is it strange and monsterous? Then find an angle which emphasizes that. Is the clutter along the walls actually part of what makes it interesting or not?

I will say, aside from the technical issues that have been mentioned, the color of that space is interesting and bizarre. There's a strange amount of flesh tones, which could make an interesting piece in it's own right. I'd consider reshooting it on a tripod, and seeing what it looks like without the hallway clutter. That way the focus is on the boiler.
