I actually like the framing on it. It does however need a boost in contrast.

It's usually a good thing to have a little black in a "black and white" photo.
Unless there is a creative reason for not having any black. That can work as well, but not here.
At least it was not the best choice for this composition.

I don't know them. Cows are curious creatures. If you sit quietly in their midst, like my nephew did, curiosity will get the better of them and will come and investigate. I have a shot of my heeler sitting in the vehicle not wanting to engage with them and the cows looking at him curiously. What I call, "Farming from the truck"

They can be curious. I've also known cattle that will hook you with less than a moment's notice, and that's without a yipping instigator in your lap. I guess I'm just not one to push the odds on that risk/return.
