Is terrible!
Seriously though when starting you have to filter the internet results - Google will give you 10000000s of results that you've got to sort through on your own to determine what is right and wrong - what is fact and what is opinion and what is just a load of old drivel.
Furthermore many things on the net can come with context - a great many guides on editing for example, show the method, but fail to put it into a working context and workflow.
Furthermore just because something (cough cough - rockwell) gets a high google ranking does not mean that its necessarily accurate nor a good resource for a beginner.
This is why we have forums - books and references
These help to filter the info a lot better than google can and can put some structure behind things. Furthermore whilst still open to personal opinion they at least can offer some filtration of the information which helps to try and ensure that its a bit more accurate.
