This kid, I swear. I got new drops in and wanted an on-the-fly model so I could showcase them ASAP on my pages. So of course I grabbed my stinkerbell. I'm pretty sure her dad and I are in trouble in about 10 years.

Aggie - Thanks! I've been mulling it over all morning thinking my light was a bit too high.

Both drops are from LemonDrop. LemonDrop Shop Warning - they are addictive.

Very nice pose and light. Are there lemon drops in the photo?

Anyway, I don't like your watermark cutting across the model's leg. And I think there is too much space above her head. Not a fan of the background color.

An interesting comment on the amount of top space. I would agree; in a casual portrait like this, the amount of top space allotted here is I think, a bit too much, and I'd crop off maybe 40% of what's been allotted. If this were a FORMAL portrait, then I think allowing more "air" above the head would look better. It's a pretty old tradition, that on formal portraits of that a bit more top space is allotted above the head.

Yeah, it's fine, really. The child's face is on the "thirds" so it's probably really fine. I think I was put off by the color of the background. So it's fine.

I believe that floor is hickory... which is so awesome. I wanted to do that but my wife wouldn't let me cuz it was too funky.

), a drop was something you gave a girl to hang around her neck with your initials on it. CPO jackets were "in" back then too, as was the Nehru. What is the "drop" we're looking at here?

Oh, BACKDROP. I think I get it now. The REASON for the shot is to show off your BACKDROPS.

Now not only do I understand better; I should mention that there appears to be something odd about the juncture of the "wall" and the "floor". Given the geometry of the shot, it looks as if the floor is not flat on the floor up to the point of meeting the wall.

Presumably you think that boys need a certain color which would not work for girls, and vice-versa. And by selecting a color that nobody wants, you have reached a compromise between the two.

I have no idea what color you would consider to be a "boy's" color, but I should caution you to NOT think the ideal color for girls is pink. DO NOT have anything pink in your backdrops. The reason is that pinks often do not match, and if they don't match, they clash.

I dunno, if I were to purchase a backdrop I think I would choose some other color than your light green. I like the floor, though.

I suppose I didn't figure so many would hate a green background or nobody would want it... it's more of a light aqua in person, maybe the WB is off. Matter of personal taste I suppose. Anyways, no I don't restrict boys to blue and girls to pink. I do have a cute girly one (NOT pink thank you, it's hard to describe it really) and a blue one but if a girl came along and loved blue, more power to her, same with a boy loving girly stuff. I just wanted an option in the middle in case someone came along and hated both blue and pink for the fear of looking too "restricted" one way or the other. And for that matter, both my floors can also be hung up and in that case I have a wood wall and a white wall. But what if someone hated both blue and pink but white was too boring? I could go on. Figured variety is better and they all go on sale once a week. Guess if I'm the only one that likes it, so be it :lol:

Edit: It looks very true to color on my monitor. Light aqua, nothing green about it to me. Could be how people see/interpret different colors. I've gone rounds once with someone who swore a shirt was purple and I swore it was pink.

I see what you mean looking at it, it's possible it wasn't aligned totally straight.
