Frequent traveler with a P&S always in my pocket, time to "step up" to a big boys camera, for me anyway.
Anything acceptable in these shots?
(I know some backgrounds are bad, but HAD to get quicky prom shots for the Mrs...):p
(You can also disregard the window reflection in the last, I see it too) :)

It looks as though the male subject in the 1st 3 pics is not very happy to be there, the 2nd one would be a lot better I think if he was looking into the camera. I personally love the last one, very nice capture

I think he was going for the "coooool" look... :D

Thanks!

you can move to a great background QUICK, no excuse . . . its quick to move so do it!

i would like to have their attention in one place for one.

him looking at her with him looking at you (or visa versa)

both looking at each other.

but not both of them looking not at anything i know about.

make sense?

Love them all, good job, IMO anyway :)

Am I spending too much time shooting b&w?

The first one in post 7 is wonderful. The one below that is nice too. I like their expressions/poses as well as the background in those two.

The first ones you posted have distracting backgrounds. I'm not sure I'm loving the B&W as much for these, because that's such a dramatic color red, I want to see more of it, but it works well in the one I mentioned above.
