brand new to photography

Hey all, i'm new photography, ive done pictures on cheap disposable cameras, but wanted to learn to take really nice and artsy pictures. I was just playing around with my new camera around my house and took what i thought was a few nice pictures, so i wanted to share, and get some feedback

I like the macro thing you have going. Looks pretty nice and sharp. The one thing you may want to do is try taking some using no flash, but use the light in the room or even try taking macros with day light or sun light. Keep practicing. Im still a newbie too, but I am not very partial to using the flash unless it's done tastefully. Let me see some more with no flash.

#1 Too much in the pic with no focal point. I would suggest "looking" at one leaf & a bit of stem in sharp focus.

i'm using a Nikon D60, i have no idea what lens and that, like i said, i'm really new to this
