Brand new to the photography world

Whats up everyone? I have been loking at photography for a while, and decided to jump in and get started. I bought a canon a80 after some research, and it was in my price range. i have only taken a few pics, and am still trying to figure out all the settings and how to make them work. I figure after a while looking on here I should be able to figure it out. I look forward to improving my skills and at one point winning the monthly contest!
