Did you use Gaussian blur or something on the couch? Its a strange transition if bokeh or blur in the background to me.

I like extreme close ups and that it is an action shot makes it all the better!

Good eye. There was a reflection of light just to the left of the eye on the couch so I tried to burn it a little. A little sloppy on my part.

They're both good, but I think I like the pre-crop version better. It makes the choice of the wrong tool for the job even cuter to see that it's a double-ended melon baller.

Low_Sky is 100% correct--the use of the doble-ended melon baller makes the pre-crop version evern cuter, even more funny!

Thank you for your comments. I tend to like close crops when possible but I do see that in this case the full picture may tell the story better.
