Funny. I totally looked at this and said "Oh, the boudoir pose where we get to see her breastcicles... oh wait, the wedding dress is STILL ON?! WTF?!"

I probably need a whole team of therapists, but at least I'm honest.

Pallycow; I'm just the opposite. I talk way too much. I also attempt to make sense of what I see in the world. Yes, I know it is a fool's errand, but that's me.

Furthermore, I see what people do as their planned choice, not just some happenstance or freak accident of nature. In my chosen field, I realized that each mark that a designer puts on the paper is one that he did on purpose, whether he did it consciously or not. For a designer to get his ideas across, he needs to consider each decision in the way it affects the finished design.

For someone to copy a pose or "style" without understanding why is an enigma, and illustrates the depth of thinking that went into the shot.

........little offended by this. I did not look at any magazine or we site and say yes I need to recreate this pose! In fact if you look over in the bla I and white gallery there is a totally different one of her laying down. We were literally rolling around until we found what angles flatter her best. She actually has a long face and small close together eyes. This angle I felt minimized her weakness while flattering her nicely. These are for her husband for Valentines day as long as she feels beautiful in them and he loves them then I feel great about it.

No reason to get offended, this is the interwebz, he's just stating his opinion...and opinions vary. ;-)

Trash the dress is not that new, it has become a fad, and most likely like any other fad, is being ruined from what the original intent was.

I still wanna shoot one though. lol. Not something you get to do everyday.

Trash the dress would freak me out. Not sure I could handle it with my recycle and re-use attitude. The idea of trashing a dress that cost hundreds or even thousands of pounds/dollars is anathema; it could be passed on to a charity shop for a bride on a budget.

I could rant for hours on this subject but I have a shoot this afternoon with an aspiring alternative model (first shoot of this type) so I have to go and get ready... you have been spared!

I still like this shot, though, laying down on a brick floor hardly classifies as trashing.

I have seen similar shots in some wedding fashion magazines!"

No need for you to take offense if you or your client had not seen similar poses published in fashion magazines. I could not know you were not copying a shot made popular by another photographer.

As to the "angle", are you telling me that you could not find the best angle to shoot this bride without rolling on the floor?

We did all sorts of angles and looks I liked this one the best in fact this was a two hour shoot we did.....Believe I did not just show up and say get on the floor. The wheels were turning in my head and I just lets try it. Below are some different poses just in case you do not believe me
