A couple shots from a previous session. These were both natural light shots.

I didn't apply much sharpening to these in post. I really liked the softer look. Leaving the blacks a bit muted.

This arises a question of what is an acceptable level of sharpness in portraits, or is it all subjective?

Hmmm... they're nice shots, but for some reason, I'm not a fan of the monochrome here. Not sure if it's because they're less contrasty than I'd prefer, or what... as far as acceptabiltiy, pretty much all of photography is subjective!

Not bad, I would dodge the shadows around the eyes a bit though.

Pretty subject...me like...as for the photo...the hand in the second photo is a little close to the edge of the frame...but overall...they look better than mine for sure...

Thanks guys. I wanted to dump the 2nd photo because of he placement of her left hand, but the look she gave outweighed the hand for me.
