Piping I figured out, as well as mounting the camera to the boom/pole at the end. Right now I am trying to figure out how to connect the suction cups to the clamps. I have heard bad stories of the F1000 failing.

The suction cups are slowing me down because I do not know how to find a way to mount them to the clamps. The suction cup closest to the camera, I would like to have it raised up, like an extension from the suction cup to the clamp to raise up the pole/boom so I can get higher shots.

Someone help me?

Hi Keedo - by the time you buy 3 $59.50 Super Grip Juniors (or even 3 $48 Alan Gordon Super Grip "Babys"), you might as well get a $143 Camtree G-2BH 2 cup rig.

When you add the cost of clamps and pipes, you may as well get a $252 Camtree G-51 3 cup rig. The Camtrees work well and are inexpensive.

Good luck with your rig - it would be great to see pictures when you're finished!

Machine a plug for the end of the tube (go about .0005 over) and then end and cross drill & tap 1/4NC.

The on car camera mount I use has 4 suction cups on 3 aluminum plates totaling 12 cups. Each plate has a center mounted bolt which I can connect varying lengths of alumining rods. I have an adjustable tripod head with a mounting plate.

I use two of theses on the f1000's to clamp my pole and one on a magic arm with camera bracket for my camera. Works great.

How do the f1000s do? I have heard that arent good and have a low load capacity limit.

I know of a lot of people using them and they don't have issues. You have to make sure the surface is clean and it's best if it's wax/product free. I have a fairly heavy rig right now with a 5D MKII and 17-40 normally on the end and most of the time my issue is that it's a real pain in the ass to remove them afterwards. But, I tend to stay as close to the camera as possible, always check the pressure on the cups, have my boom wrapped in foam insulation, and watch it like a hawk. **** can happen with any setup. There's also the possbility of user error with trying to suction up a dirty car or a curved surface where it can't get a good grip to begin with.
