Long exposures and high ISO bring out the worst in a digital sensor. My D1X's are a couple generations old and can't compare to todays crop of cameras in the noise arena, but at ISO 125 several min. exposures are quite doable. Not good enough for astro imagery, but for most other applications acceptable.
