Congrats on a nice camera purchase and a good craigslist experience. I bought a D40 on craigslist last year and it was a great experience. I like your pics. I like the shallow DOF and the colors-left composition. Number your pics next time (or edit these). You will get more specific comments. "Good job" and "Have Fun".

Number 4 is my favorite because the eye and beak are sharpest (in focus). I also like the colors left and the dark background behind the bird. The odd feather cling to the perch is a bonus too.
