Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I have looked at this photo too much. I would appreciate ideas for edits and c&c. Thank you so much!

Thank you, I see it now. I believe it was my edits and not the original. Let's hope at least, when I get home after work I'll see what I can do. When it's your own kid and photo and you look at it 200 times, you mess up!

Her eyes seem a bit overdone.

IMO, a bit overexposed and undersaturated also.
too red
I would crop to a format that fits the picture and minimizes dead space.

thank you all, I am going to use all suggestions and go back to the get go this evening. This has all been very very helpful! I went down the wrong track with my edits, and should have started over yesterday. I really goofed from the original doing too much of what I thought it needed. thank you for being here before I attempted to print it for her book.

The whole things looks very magenta to me. I'd argue it's not overexposed but I'm not calibrated.

Other than the WB issue, it also looks like the skin texture isn't the best in this shot. Just my two cents.

I really was torn between cropping for a 10x8 or an 8x10. I went for the whole toy and less of the dress. I really like the 8x10 too! Did I do better? I really appreciate you all so much!

You know, of course, that if you have a cute enough subject, you could break almost every rule in the book and still get oooh and aaaahs with the picture... That said, the last edit looks good.

Thank you, and yes she is so cute! I guess I broke a lot of rules. I am trying to learn them, and she is so fast if I can implement them with her, I'll learn for sure. Between mine and pro pics, she will have a lot.

klc, you feel like posting the original before any edits? We might be able to give you some ideas on how we would have went about the edit a bit easier if we saw what you had to start with...

I like it muchh better without the skin texture/tone manip. It's a lot more sharp
The natural color balance is much more appealing. It could help to raise the midtones a bit, but I think it's fine
