The sprinklers are on a huge slant because of your angle, and the hotel is under exposed.

Slanted, underexposed, and the horizon seems tilted... quite snaphotty.

Ya, didnt really tell you how you could have made it unique... just a few things that could have made it better. Just google bellagio fountains, and you will see some major differences between this pic, and ones where the photographer took some time to set up and think about composition.

There is a window of opportunity between the sunset and nightfall. That twenty minutes or so allows you to capture the sky when it still has color, but yet has the feel of night at the same time. That's when you should be out there.
