C & C on image and retouching

As a small adjustment with an image like this I would be inclined to make the background perfectly white. At the moment it looks slightly grey and there is a subtle shift in tone from left to right. It would only take a few seconds to clean up.

I didn't think about it much but the background was much darker out of the camera. I brought it up to about (242,242,242). I might try it and see how it looks as a clean white, but I think it might take away from punch of the strip soft box reflection if it is the same tone. Thanks for your comment.
