C&C on "Peek-a-Mooooooo"

I was roller-blading one morning and took the Sony DSC-H2 with me.
Ran into a field of cows and calves. This one was hiding behind mommy....gave me a great shot !

Sun was shining harshly from left side into cam.

Could it be noisy from the jpeg compression?

Also, the black of the head is getting lost in the black of the body so perspective disappears. This shot COULD be a black cow looking around a white foreground cow.. it's not difficult to imagine that without this detail. You're going to have a hard time getting that detail shooting into the sun though.... a reflector would help get those shadow details back.

Well you should. You can use it to steer like a sailboat. Goes well with a muslin cape and softbox headlights.
