They all seem just a tiny bit out of focus

I like 'em, you've got a shallow DOF which works fairly well, but you hit focus on the QB's face pretty decently, what Doug may be refering to is that because the focus is on the face and you've got a shallow DOF, his hands, or the ball, etc may lie slightly out of the focus plane...I like that you've separated the players from the background with the DOF, but you might want to stop down the aperature just a little bit (not too much) just enough to keep the whole player in focus...

your composition on them seems good, on #1 cropping out the player on the far right might help the shot a little, I like #3 & 4 pretty well (I'm guessing he didn't complete the pass in #4 heh), and I like that you didn't stop shooting when the game was over with #5, but it looks slightly underexposed/kinda flat.

overall pretty decently solid work IMO, what kind of gear were you using?

Aloicious: I get what you and Doug are saying about the DOF. I would love to stop down but unfortunately even inside cowboy's stadium I'm barely getting good shutter speed with 3200iso on my T2i. All of these went through a decent amount of noise reduction

as for my gear I had two t2i, one with a 1st gen 400mm f/2.8 I rented and the other with my canon 70-200 f/2.8. I also rented a 24-70mm lens that I set beside me and when the got close I'd set the 400mm on the ground and switch. Anyways, overall I'm proud of these shots. They're probably my best to date.

yeah I know what its like, I frequently shoot in places that aren't adequately lit for photography, but they are great shots. I was just trying to give some C&C since you requested it.

I believe he is talking about the use of instagram and it's filters is persuading his post processing.

I think you have some great work here. Number 4 is by far my favorite. I wish you posted with the exif data attached.

I think you could have stopped down in some of these, especially the first one.
