This has nothing to do with photography but with fashion, actually. If he wants to get into an agency, he should have a better style and not pose withthe typical model poses. It looks totally flat. Get rid of that hoodie, maybe comb your hair up and to the side, change the sneackers. I believe what they're trying to see is the model and not the technical aspect of the photo. In my opinion, you did a great job on the portrait (though you did cut some of the hair, but who cares!).
