Hi everyone,

Took this shot on the fly earlier today and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, especially considering there is virtually no post processing. SO, I just wanted to see what the more experienced thought. Cheers.

It looks great! Really cute and good exposure. I agree with 480sparky about the hair though.

Also, it doesn't really bother me but the pros might have an issue with the black painted bird in the top right being cut off. Just a thought...

Crop it square, since you missed the ROT composition in the original by not including the bird:

Great memory.

I agree a 1:1 crop would be better... I also adjusted the white balance slightly and added a touck of sharpness.

My take:

I cloned out the painted bird, lowered the blue channel saturation down (to make the white in her dress white), and cropped to a nearly 1:1 ratio. I also cloned out the hairs that are right down the middle of her face, as well as across the nose.

You should check your monitor, because that is green indeed! :) Unless you were going for that weirdo look.

OP, I like the image, but I agree with a tighter crop on this.

I like it composed as shot. The bird is an interesting element, in the picture.

Green edit.

Thanks for the feedback and the edits, everyone! I must learn this "cloning"... amazing removal of the hair across the face. I'm also not crazy about the wind-blown hair or the bird being partially cut off, but as I said, this was a quick shot that I was just happy to get.. I was surprised she actually paused to smile when I asked (this was on a playground). I do wish I would have thought enough to get the entire bird in the shot, but I had on a prime lens and didn't have much time to adjust and it would have been an awkward crop with no space at the bottom.

Thanks again... I'm still very new at this so it's encouraging to get some positive feedback!
