C&C, please

I do not have a very good eye for exposure. I feel like many of my pictures may be underexposed, but I just can't tell. Nor do I have an eye yet for white balance (ok, to be honest my vision in general is poor ). So, those are two things I'm specifically looking for feedback on, but I would also like a general critique. Thank you in advance, and please let me know if this post belongs somewhere else

flower#2- i like the angle but not the harsh sun..
meadow of flowers- the flowers on the front of the camera look over sharpen to me.

I really like the depth of the scene in number one. I think you nailed it. Maybe it's underexposed a stop.

I also like the sharp focus and composition in number 4.

Number 3 really lacks a clear subject or focal point and does nothing for me.

2 and 3 look underexposed but the others seem ok. 1 works but have you tried increasing the exposure?

Number 5 does nothing for me either, for some reason. It's a nice reflection but personally it doesn't wow.

I know what you mean about number 5. It's my first reflection shot and I was SUPER excited to get one that came out that still. But I agree with you.

I see what you mean about number 3 and totally respect that, but it's actually one of my favorites because the lighting is just really neat to me, and next to mountains, meadows are one of my favorite subjects. Guess it's just personal preference

It makes a normal picture special in my opinion. And, I think you should crop or clone off the top left corner, it's quite distracting.

lol ok then. I'd rather my pictures be "special" before editing, so I'm not crazy about doing too too much post, trying to make a failed picture succeed. But thanks

A digital camera has inherent limitations.

Unlike our eyes, that can react dynamically to light, a digital camera can only react to light linearly. Compared to our eyes a digital camera can only capture a very limited dynamic range. So to a large degree any digital photo is a failed image, because they a;ll fall well short of what our eyes see.

Fully 1/2 of the luminance data in a digital image is in the brightest stop of exposure. Each next darker stop of exposure then has 1/2 of what luminance data is left.

Consequently, to have a final image that more closely looks like what we can see, we edit.

I totally understand that, but I don't think cross processing is more similar to what we see with our eyes. I obviously edited my pictures, but only to a certain degree (what I considered to be closer to what I saw in real life). I don't personally like when they begin to look unrealistic, though I did do two HDR's...they're just not among my favorites. Editing is fun, but when I'm done editing more heavily than the pictures I posted, I consider it more digital art than a photograph. Just my personal opinion But I definitely understand what you are saying, and agree.
