C&C Please
What I dont like is the flat lighting (it was cloudy so I felt a reflector wouldnt have done much also didnt have anyone to hold it. I didnt have my flash on me). I also feel the photo is not sharp. I dont charge for my work I know I have a ways to go before I am good enough to take peoples hard earned money lol!

You can't actually upload pictures to the post. Instead of posting the link to flicker - when you go to the share button and you go to the option grab the link - get the BBCode (option is at bottom) not the HTML code and when you paste it in here your photo will show up. I tried doing it for you but it wouldn't let me.

The girl is absolutely stunning. Her arms skin tone looks different then the rest of her. It almost looks like it has a greenish cast (could be my monitor). The sky is blown out. Whats in the background? Its a good shot - I like the way you had her posed and her facial expression is perfect!

Thank you! I was doing it totally wrong then lol

Thanks for the C&C, yes she is very beautiful! The sky was pretty much the same way that day as its shown in the picture it actually started raining not long after this shot lol. I agree about the green cast. I have been trying to fix that in CS5. The photo was on a track at an athletic park in my city and I found the red from the track was really showing up in her skin and top and while trying to fix it I thnk I went too green. Any suggestions on how I could fix that?

I did it! lol Thanks so much for your help! I tried to fix the green cast, do you think it looks less green then the previous one?

I think it's a beautiful picture. The girl is stunning, you should post more from this set. However the face looks lighter then the rest of the body, or at least it appears that way on my iPhone.

I think it would also be a more appealing picture if her finger wasn't digging into her side. It makes her body look like a piece of beef jerky, which I can tell it is not.

Thanks, I dont love the way that looks either in this shot. Is there anything I can do in photo shop to make it look more like its resting rather then digging in?

Try editing out the shadows where her hand is it might help

When making a portrait type shot, my first concern is always the eyes, the windows to a person's soul. She has dark eye sockets, so we can't see her eyes very well.

A large part of why you feel the image is lacking is because the subject is poorly separated from the background light. Because of the overcast all the light in the scene is about the same intensity. The shadow edges wrap nicely but the shot has no 'pop'. The sun is apparently off to camera left guaging by the highlights on her right arm, shoulder, and hand.

You're right in that reflectors don't have much to reflect if it is overcast.

If your camera has a built-in flash unit, you could have put it in manual mode so the power of the flash could have been adjusted so it could be used for some fill. Plus you would then have had more control of the ambient light by adjusting the shutter speed and lens aperture while ignoring the in camera light meter.

Thanks for the awesome advice. I never really thought to use the pop up. So in situations like this (outside bright etc) a pop up flash will work as a fill flash as well?

I like the picture! I might have turned her a little bit so her hips are more square to the camera because there's something strange going on with the sway of her back and her abs making them look "pooched" out when it's clear she's got a bangin' body, but I think her intense expression definitely gives it that "Nike" ad vibe. She's lovely! This is one of those situations in which it can be helpful to have one of those reflectors that supports itself or a tripod with a boom arm on it. I've just leaned a reflector or white board against my legs before if I'm close enough to try and get some light going in the right direction. Overall it's a good shot!

Thanks I will look into getting something to hold my reflector and when I have a little more time I will post some other images from this set I see what your saying about the odd pose!

Yes, it will work better than nothing, but I would prefer to use 2 kicker lights with a couple of diffuser panels, a snoot for the hair light, and a nice 54" by 72" Chimera softbox for the main light.

Chimera Super Pro Plus Softbox, White - Large 1145 B&H Photo

OK awesome. I am glad to have more of an idea of what to add to my gear. I currently only have an external flash and 2 soft boxes for off camera light and a gold and silver reflector
