C&C this deer pic please

I took this picture on Christmas day in Boise. These two deer were rubbing their heads against one another. There was a total of 7 deer in this particular field. I was on the edge of the field, and could not get higher than the plants in front on the deer. Is it too distracting to make this shot work?

I'm indecisive. On one hand, you have the fact that the reeds/stalks ARE in the way, giving a nice bit of context and implying you were "hidden," and on the other, you have that since they are in the way, it detracts from the subject. For me, they don't do the image any good, and i wish they weren't there.

That's what I have been thinking as well. I wish they weren't there. The area was very flat, so i had no way to get higher up, and I was about 20 yards away from them, so I didn't want to move closer and scare them off.
