I was out taking some shots, and suddenly two horses came running. I didn't have time to adjust anything (though I'm not sure what I would adjust). All of them were underexposed and poor, except this one which I hope has potential.
Canon eos 40D
canon 50mm f1.8
no tripod (don't own any)
Just enough light to keep the camera hand held at that aperture.

I quite like it. I think the proportion sky/horses is a bit off, but as you had no time to adjust this isn't weird. Nice!

Nice! I think i would crop out the branches in the foreground and maybe add some saturation, contrast or vibrance to the photo. I wish i can play around with it, but im not at my computer.

The way you have it is fine (without the brances, but you can clone that out). It would have been nicer if there were lots of clouds.

yup, clouds do make the sunset extra-ordinary. However, I can't change then weather - at least I don't know the cloud dance

I've taken a nice photograph, I'm just realising. There may be hope for me and my new hobby after all
