Calibrators?

I am so confused.
I am trying to find one, but really is it just one of those suck it up and spend the 200 dollars because that is what you need, or are there others, like spyder3 I see and they are a bit less, but then there is regular, elite, pro.......

Actually, they are profilers, not calibrators.

No, they are not created equal, nor is the software that comes with them.

There are 2 kinds - colorimeters that can only profile computer displays, and the more expensive spectrophotometers that can profile displays and output devices like printers

I recommend X-RITE's products like the i1 Display 2, a colorimeter.

the one i use is Spyder and it's absolutely fine, the 4 top London labs use Spyder too.

I vote for xRite's i1 (use it myself). I've used Spyder and it's OK. Stay away from the Huey.
