Ok, I've posted on here numerous times finding out info about cameras and I'm happy to say I finally got my DSLR today. I got a Sony a200 and I just started playing with it and am completely overwhelmed, so needless to say, I am glad I didn't go with anything too advanced. I decided on the Sony because Dell had an amazing price on it that I couldn't pass up. Anyway, I wanted to say Thank You to all who responded to my posts before about what to buy. Now, I need to go out and find some subjects to shoot...

Oh yeah, one more thing, Are there any sites out there for those who are just starting out that kind of run over the basics? I found a few myself but I wanted to see if you guys know of anything that's better, perhaps something that royally dumbs it down.. Thanks all

I almost bought this camera, but I didnt want to mess with the hassle of sony lenses, congrats. Glad you like it.

Great Choice!!
I love my A200 almost more than anything!

There are a few site but if you do some "googling" you could probably find some good sites. I think the camera was very easy to learn how to use and I think I'm not going to get rid of it once I upgrade.

How much did you get it?

539.99 ... Shipping was included

Best price I could find, I had to pay tax cause I live in Florida so it totalled 570.00 shipped, but that was still cheaper than 599.99 plus tax which equalled 640.00 here. My bonus wasn't as big as expected, so the Sony fit right into my budget. I'm going to take it out to the Everglades tomorrow evening for sunset and see how it goes, so far though, I really like it. I'll post some pics as soon as I can

I've bought several books that I would recommend strongly... Bryan Peterson's "Understanding Exposure" and Ansell Adams' texts "The Camera" and "The Negative". I know you have a digital camera but there's no better discussion of the "Zone System" than Adam's original material.

Re sites here's a couple...
http://www.kenrockwell.com/ (good, although opinionated and I don't always agree with his thoughts)

I also find a lot on Nikonians.org, but I'm a Nikon shooter.
